Jochen Gerz

The public art of Jochen Gerz (*1940 in Berlin), one of the best-known German artists worldwide, radically transformed the relationship between art and spectator. The public does not remain the audience of his author projects but becomes part of the developing work. Gerz’s project “2—3 Streets. An Exhibition in Cities of the Ruhr,” in Dortmund, Duisburg and Mülheim 2010 is a prime example.
