We humans are familiar with manifold forms of government and willing to place our trust in only a few of them. A conscious decision for or against certain forms of division of labor, however, rarely takes place in nature.

This student exhibition introduces the complex and fascinating world of insect nations. While we are familiar with the social behavior of different species, state formation in the animal kingdom is rare. Our focus falls on honey bees, termites and ants, three species of insects whose existence dominates entire living spaces. Deep within their community, amazing discoveries are still being made. How do individuals communicate with each other, how do they feed themselves? Who works in their service and who threatens their existence? Join us on a tour to the very center of power!
