For many organisms, life begins with a fertilized egg. The exhibition highlights the diverse functions and forms of eggs. While most of us think of eggs in relation to breakfast, oology is the scientific study of bird eggs. In keeping with the Natural History Collections’ focus on the relationship between nature and humans, the exhibit also explores the cultural significance of the Easter egg. Dr. Birgit Scheps' recently donated collection allows for a detailed exploration of this cultural tradition.
