New presentation of modern and contemporary art

Open Minded/Offen für Neues

What can a self-portrait look like?
Does a painting have to be rectangular?
Can drawings look heavy?
Is the sense of touch even relevant in a museum?
And can a room be transformed at all?

Painting, drawing, sculpture, installation — in modern and contemporary art, there are (almost) no limits to how artists can realize their ideas or projects. But what does that actually mean for us as viewers?

With the new presentation of the Modern and Contemporary Art Collection, we are not only focusing on works from our depots, but also opening up new ways of thinking. We are placing museum highlights in new contexts and discovering long-forgotten works that want to tell their stories again or inspire new dialogues.
