Cameroon was a German colony for over 30 years, as many items in the collection remind us. A current research project is trying to understand how the objects were acquired and to incorporate the perspectives of the communities in Cameroon from which they originated. The exhibition encourages visitors to consider the responsibility of coming to terms with the colonial legacy.
